OUR FOOD is a mix of classic English with a French influence.

We use only locally sourced produce and maintain a fresh focus on what we serve. We are proud to say only our chips, bread, sorbets and ice cream come in frozen.

Pub Classics live alongside an À La Carte menu that is changed at least 4 times a year. We maintain a simple but tasty view of food as you would expect of a small country pub. We do like a challenge though, so if you have a favourite meal you would like us to prepare please do not hesitate to ask. 48 hours notice is the usual.

À LA CARTE consists of home-made tasty starters, delicious mains and yummy desserts. In addition, we have DAILY SPECIALS which follow a seasonal vein of fresh produce. SUNDAY LUNCH is served all day from 12 noon until 8pm and we always have a choice of 3 roasts plus a selection of other meals. PUB CLASSICS are everyone’s favourite food and our TAPAS are tasty appetisers to have with your meal or as a bar snack. They are served all week.

We now also have a selection of BUFFETS to suit all budgets and occasions.

For those too busy to stop, we have a TAKE AWAY menu including hot food, baguettes and paninis, ideal for walkers, cyclists and campers.

On Mondays and Tuesday lunchtimes we offer a LIGHTER LUNCH for those with a smaller appetite. A choice of 2 courses for £9.95 chosen from a specific menu for the day.

Lunch: 12 noon until 2.30pm.
Evenings: 6pm until 9pm.
SATURDAY : 12 noon until 9pm.
SUNDAY: 12 noon until 8pm.

We have a very comfortable first class restaurant but you may choose to have your meal in the Bars, Snug or in the Garden. We can seat up to 60 covers inside with many more outside.

Our restaurant HEAD CHEF Dominic Knight comes to us with over 25 years of experience of running hotels, restaurants and pubs across the south east. We are very excited to have captured such a wonderful talent for the pub and we know you will all appreciate the quality service that he brings.
Dominic is a great character who be out to say hello whenever he gets the chance.

Our restaurant THE REST OF THE TEAM
Dominic’s sous chef is David Thompson. David has trained and worked under Dominic for many years. At 6ft 5" David is the tallest chef to work in the R&C kitchen and will be difficult to miss when he steps out of the kitchen.
Tom Russel and Liam Nally are the remaining corners of our team that promises the future of our kitchen is in good hands. We believe we are moving forward under Dominic’s guidance and we hope you enjoy the journey with us.
